Position Overview: Coordinator, Early Learning Centre

As the Coordinator for the Early Learning Centre, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations and administration of the ELC. This includes working closely with the Director to maintain a joyful, safe learning environment for children, guiding staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and legislated standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Director, ELC: Assist in staff recruitment and training, co-op student supervision, implementing policy changes, and overseeing the overall functioning of the centre.
  2. Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ministry of Education Licensing standards, Toronto Children’s Services Assessment for Quality Improvement, Toronto Public Health guidelines, and College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  3. Create a Nurturing Environment: Review program plans, update information bulletin boards, and support a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for children, staff, and families.
  4. Operations Support: Manage physical building issues, maintenance, and equipment concerns. Order supplies and ensure the safe operation and timely repairs of equipment.

Qualifications for Teaching Job Vacancies Toronto:

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Early Childhood Management-Leadership certificate.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience in early learning/childcare settings, either as an ECE or Coordinator.

Other Requirements:

  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Credential verifications and references.
  • Updated COVID vaccinations in compliance with CDI’s Mandatory Vaccination Policy.
